MWC WW2 Pattern British Military Pattern 17 Jewel Hand Wound Military Pocket Watch

£199.99
Type: Pocket watch

Military pocket watches, along with their civilian counterparts, are experiencing a significant rise in popularity. Historically, these timepieces were frequently used across land, air, and naval operations. During World War II, RAF and USAAF navigators and bomb aimers (U.S.: bombardiers) favored pocket watches over traditional wristwatches. The larger size and convenience of placing a pocket watch on a chart, bench, or within the nose of an aircraft made them ideal for mission use. At the time, wristwatches averaged only 32mm in diameter, making them harder to read, while pocket watches, with their larger 50mm cases, offered much better visibility.

This classic WW2-style military pocket watch, featuring a subsidiary seconds dial, is based on designs from multiple wartime manufacturers. It houses a traditional 17-jewel hand-wound mechanical movement and has been upgraded with a durable glass crystal, which surpasses the acrylic/plastic crystals used during World War II that were prone to scratching and damage.

This model comes with a solid 316L military-grade stainless steel case, offering durability and timeless style.
