British Army MTP Windproof Smock Super Grade 1

An excellent piece of kit, ideal length so I can put some survival aids in the two lower bellows pockets and wear my CEFO over the smock comfortable. The smock has plenty of large pockets in order to carry a proper and sensible load out of items i.e: survival bivy, torch, whistle, compass, map, first aid, fire starter kit, pocket knife, water filter and light weight collapsible bottle, gloves, beanie and food. With this packed you have plenty of room left for other admin such as pens, pencils, notebook. You also have two fleece lined pockets which are comfortable. The upper bellows pockets have stitched lines for attaching important items by paracord and small karabiners. The smock also has two large zipped pockets beside the top bellows pockets, and more pockets on the left and right upper arms. Underneath the arms you have two large zip openings for ventilation along with a good bud. You can also use inside the jacket the pockets behind the fleece pockets for additional gear. I highly recommend this smock for the outdoors and a level 1 good layout 🤡👍

Guys took the effort to get me a decent quality item in the correct size. Took a little while, but worth the wait. Very happy with the item and would use again.

I think Becketts are a very good shop for ex-military products. It’s a shame they’re an hour away by car. The staff are welcoming and always helpful. I am well satisfied with my recent online order.

From the time I contacted Becketts by email, to confirm my correct size, I was continually updated with the progress of my purchase. And on arrival the jacket I received was the correct size: I am 6' 1" tall with a 45/46" chest and the 'XXL' was a perfect fit! I served in the army back in 1973-1986 and with the passage of time needed confirmation for a good fit!
The quality of the Grade1 jacket is first class, all the buttons are where they should be, all the zips work, no rips or tears anywhere. The wired hood completes the good fit. The hook & loop cover patches on the arms was a total bonus, they alone can cost a bit??
Having now worn the jacket a number of times I have perfected the fit by pulling in the waist ties (a bit of faffing about but I got there) and also the elasticated hem. And in the recent strong winds and the cold I was totally protected...I even had to unzip the 'pit' zips to cool off a bit!
So all in all a great jacket that I would highly recommend.
